Every shop has had the conversation. A customer says he paid, or says he bought something else, or says the rate was different. Without a record on both sides it comes down to who is more certain.
The record lives on their phone
A WhatsApp receipt does not get thrown away with the shopping bag. It sits in a chat the customer already uses daily, searchable, with a date on it.
That single fact ends most disputes before they start, because either side can look.
It costs nothing to send
No paper, no roll, no printer to jam on a busy evening. For shops that do not print at all today, it is the first receipt they have ever given.
It also reaches customers who would have refused a paper slip.
- No printer or paper needed
- Sent as the sale is billed
- Works for credit balances too, not only sales
The same channel recovers money
A khata balance sent as a message is far easier for both sides than asking for money at the counter in front of other customers. It is polite, it is specific, and it is dated.
Shops that start sending balances this way usually notice recovery improve within a month, for no cost at all.
Ask first
Sending unwanted messages is how a number gets blocked, and a blocked number is a real cost to a shop that sells this way. Take the number as part of the sale and ask if they would like the receipt sent.
Almost everybody says yes, and the ones who do not are exactly the ones you should not be messaging.
It is the cheapest customer record a shop can keep, and the customer keeps it for you.
